The Arch contribution to the BiodiversiScape Project

On May 22, we celebrate the International Day for Biodiversity. In honor of this special day, we would like to highlight our work on the BiodiversiScape project. This project, an ambitious initiative by the federal government, aims to promote and enhance biodiversity around government buildings and environments.

Arch has proudly contributed to the strategic choices of the BiodiversiScape project, focusing on both communication and change management. The project requires a careful approach to not only transform the physical environment but also to raise awareness and engage all stakeholders involved.

Arch's Contribution

A crucial part of the BiodiversiScape project is effective communication with various stakeholders. Arch has developed a comprehensive communication strategy that ensures the project’s goals and benefits are clearly and inspiringly communicated.

Part of the assignment involved creating a communication plan that spans several years, including thoughtful communication channels and messages. Additionally, extensive work was done to ensure a clear and accessible UX for the future website.

Besides communication, change management is another pillar on which the success of the BiodiversiScape project rests. Arch provided a tailor-made change management approach to ensure that all stakeholders not only understand the changes but also embrace them.

This approach includes:

  • The vision and communication around the existence of the approach and its beneficial aspect through a multi-year strategic communication plan increasing in strength over the years 2024-2026.
  • The coalition of sponsors and the chain of stakeholders to be established to increase the chances of success of the approach.
  • The story of change, tailored for each actor in the coalition of sponsors.
  • The stages of change by applying the ADKAR method to BiodiversiScape.
  • The gradation of actions to address each stage recognized as essential in change management, which includes:
    1. Training partners in the actions.
    2. Raising awareness among the partners' employees.
    3. Raising awareness among hierarchical managers.
    4. Training biodiversity ambassadors for each structure.
  • Ways to circumvent resistance to change.
  • The creation of specific communication tools (e-learning and internal communication campaign within partners).

The BiodiversiScape project is a brilliant example of how strategic communication and rigorous change management can go hand in hand to bring about sustainable and positive changes. We are proud of our contribution and look forward to the further positive impact this project will have on our biodiversity.
